Furthermore, Tresman Steel is dedicated to continuous improvement and progress in order to better address the ever-changing global issues on a more personal level. The overall direction for Tresman Steel is to act in an environmentally responsible manner.
Guiding principles for our organization:
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Monitoring of environmental performance and practices throughout our organization on a yearly basis.
- Encouragement of suppliers and contractors to adopt an environmentally responsible mindset.
- Reminder to customers of our recyclable products and the benefit to the environment.
Consistent with our environmental principles, Tresman Steel uses fully recyclable materials. Structural steel is the most recycled material in the world since it retains its strength, qualities and characteristics. North America’s structural steel recycling rate for construction was 97.5% in 2007. For further information on the uses of steel and sustainable steel development please visit CISC-ICCA® (Canadian Institute of Steel Construction). For steel recyclability facts and rates please visit the Recycling Institute®.
In addition to recycling steel, Tresman Steel has implemented a paper and cardboard recycling program in conjunction with Green Thumb Recycling and Disposal Services®. Tresman Steel has successfully diverted tons of paper products from landfills to recycling facilities.
